Overview
DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a nine-residue neuromodulatory sequence isolated from studies of sleep-related brain activity. It is used in circadian, neuroendocrine and stress-response bench models.
Background
The sequence was characterised in the 1970s from dialysate work associating a small peptide with delta-wave activity in study animals. It has remained a reference neuropeptide because it is short, water-soluble and simple to synthesise.
Handling & storage
