Overview
GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a long-standing reference compound in skin, connective-tissue and copper-transport research. The complex is what gives the lyophilised cake and reconstituted solution their characteristic blue colour.
Background
The GHK sequence was identified in human plasma in the early 1970s and its high affinity for copper(II) was recognised soon after. The copper complex, rather than the free peptide, is the form most literature works with.
Handling & storage
Reconstitute gently against the inside wall of the vial with our Laboratory Research Reconstitution Solution and swirl until dissolved. This material is light sensitive: keep it in the amber vial, store sealed vials at -20°C in the dark, and hold reconstituted solution at 2-8°C protected from light.
