Overview
Kisspeptin-10 is the ten-residue C-terminal fragment of the KISS1 gene product and the shortest sequence that retains full activity at the GPR54 (KISS1R) receptor. It is a standard tool compound in reproductive-endocrinology and GnRH-axis bench research.
Background
The KISS1 gene was first described in metastasis-suppression work, and its peptide products were later shown to signal through GPR54 as upstream regulators of GnRH release. The 10-residue fragment became the preferred laboratory sequence because it is short, stable and synthetically clean.
