Overview
KPV is the C-terminal lysine-proline-valine tripeptide of alpha-MSH, the shortest fragment that retains the parent peptide's activity in inflammatory-pathway models. It is widely used in gastrointestinal and mucosal bench research.
Background
Work on alpha-MSH fragments in the 1980s and 1990s showed that its anti-inflammatory profile in study models tracked with the final three residues, giving researchers a tripeptide reference instead of a 13-residue one.
Handling & storage
